Initiation in Nashville

I travelled to Nashville on the 10th to celebrate the initiation of two new members. From the beautiful table decorations to the delicious food to the warm hospitality of our Eta Alpha sisters, the entire evening was lovely.

(Look! I remembered my camera, and had fresh batteries!)

The ritual table

Eta Alpha participated in a Nashville event on Thursday evening to raise funds for the various art groups in the county; they decorated a table in a wintry theme, complete with paintings by Eta Alpha sister Phyllis: The paintings and the stockings (also created by sisters) were to be the favors for participants sitting at that table, and the centerpiece was to be auctioned off. Eta Alpha's Annual Log Cabin Tour had to be cancelled last summer due to the flooding in Southern Indiana; however, the Chapter is rallying, and selling Scrip and Kroger cards, and I think there are some other plans in the works. Of course, they are already working on the tour for next summer -- I am looking forward to helping out with that!

Peace,

Brownstown's 75th Anniversary

I was honored to be invited to the Style Show/Brunch celebrating Beta Mu's 75th Anniversary. It was held at WR Ewing, an event site owned by PIX sisters. The lovely clothes were from Lockett's in Columbus.

I took my camera this time, but my batteries were dead. But trust me, it was beautiful, from the fashions to the table decorations to the wonderful food.

Mary Sue Spurgeon of the Auxiliary Chapter gave a history of Beta Mu; perhaps the most interesting bit of information was that when the Chapter started, they raised money by renting out jigsaw puzzles for 1cent per day. Don't you just love hearing about Psi Ote ingenuity?

Thanks to the Beta Mu Chapter for a wonderful time.

Peace,
Georgiann
